The Nehemiah Wall (TNW) is a not for profit charitable and humanitarian organization. Our main purpose is to provide transitional housing for women and children with life-controlling problems. The mission of The Nehemiah Wall is to be a secure home where women will be elevated to the level of person-hood. The organization was founded August 8th 2007 when our Articles of Incorporation were granted. We opened our doors May 10, 2008 and have been operating since then. We followed a vision that seemed impossible but prevalent because of the great need for women in need.

Many women have been incarcerated, battered and abused, betrayed, abandoned and left with no hope. Here at T.N.W. our goal is to help women mainstream back in to society where they can function as stable women knowing that we care.

Our objective is to assist women in sustaining spiritually alive, emotionally balanced, mentally sound and socially adjusted. T.N.W. also offers help with counseling, employment assistance, temporary housing, life skills, education and financial support as we tap into the agencies that will meet the needs of each individual woman.

We teach the women that they can;

  • obtain a full-time job and maintain a steady home

  • obtain personal bank account to help maintain a good budget

  • secure own housing in a maximum of six months to one year

  • learn to live and function in society

Many of the women who enter into TNW are in need of guidance, some have lost all self-esteem, self-worth, their children, education and so much more. We offer them an opportunity to refocus their lives and encourage them to build a strong foundation for a positive future by not only providing a safe haven, but also providing them with the help they need to reenter society.

In the darkness of the night Nehemiah toured the wall and grieved over its disrepair. As the light of morning appeared, he met with local leaders to share his heartache. They immediately caught the vision and proclaimed,

“…Let us arise and build”…
